I once heard someone say that "Depression is a warm feeling. You wrap yourself up in it like a blanket, because it feels good to be sad. It's comforting to know that there is nothing you can do to change your situation, because then you can sit and be depressed for fun."

I'm not angry enough to write something brilliant off of this. Maybe you are.

  1. I think I've written a few things that vaguely fit the bill. I don't usually let people read them, though.

Why would you need to be angry to write about depression?

  2. Because I have to be angry to write things that are depressing. I think. I might just not try when I'm happy, that might be it.

  3. Lol, yeah, but that would be a different kind of depressing.

Are you seriously never depressed? Because that would make me jealous-- so jealous that I write in sentence fragments.

  4. I get sad, but I'm so unaware of my changing moods/mental climates that I am rarely aware of it until 3/4 of the way through it. I've heard that men don't swing as much as women. When women are up, they're WAY UP but when they're down . . .

  5. That sounds like a song.

Frankly, I have no idea whether that's true.

Captcha says "zopbake" and now I'm hungry (even though I don't know what a zop is).

  6. It seems true to me. The guys I know don't even swing as far as I do, and I don't swing as far as most of the women I know. Lucky me? You decide.

  7. Well, it's all based on perception, and I change viewpoints about as quickly as I lose brain cells...

  8. I think it's probably mostly based on the person (the mood swing thing). I'm a woman and I rarely have mood swings, but then again when I did a brain sex ID test thing online, I got exactly a 0, which means I'm right in the middle between having a woman's brain and having a man's brain. Now I think that's pretty strange. I wonder what kinds of things I could write about that...

  9. Maybe you're just better-adjusted than most people.

If I'm in the mood for mood swings, I have them, and if that makes any sense to you, you get a virtual gold star.

I think you can write things that both men and women would like, which is a great thing that I most definitely lack.

"Emerloy" isn't a word but should be. I'm with Captcha on this one.
