Here is a poem and I hate writing poems but I did it anyway because you can't really rebut Keats in any form but a poem.

"'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,' - that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye
need to know." - Keats

Isn't sorrow also truth?
Tell your beautiful lies
to the children that starve every day,
to the men who lose thei
r way,
to families that crumble,
to addicts that tumble.

Save your deceit for the deceived.

  1. That's quite good, actually.

My only beef is something that is technically correct. "That" makes "men" seem to be the only people. For a vegetarian, I sure do have a lot of beef

    Captcha was right for once:

    "Flighty"

  2. No.

Families cannot be only males. Nor children, nor addicts.

"Men" as in humanity. You can leave me alone. If I were writing in the day of Keats, nobody would have cared. We need a neutral gender third person pronoun so dang badly.

  3. Yes, yes we do. Also, I missed a punctuation mark. .

    I feel better now.

The trouble is that when I tried to combine "she" and "he", I just got "she". Back to the drawing board.

  4. Yeah. There's the gender neutral "e" that people have tried to institute. It failed, for obvious reasons.
